We are gradually setting into our Florida home after spending only two weeks in our new North Carolina home, thus avoiding the Carolina ice storms in early December! Thinking back on our whole experience of selling our Bethesda home, we recall frequent comments about how we could have sold the house ourselves and saved the commission. After all, the house sold in only one day. How wrong that perception is!
First, Coldwell Banker had serious home-seekers at hand, looking for a home just like ours. It would have taken quite a marketing effort for us to reach those buyers. Furthermore, the paperwork involved in selling on our own would have been overwhelming. Using Jane Fairweather, we were guided every step of the way – it was easier than we imagined. But the true payoff occurred at the settlement. You represented us at the closing since we were in North Carolina by the closing date. When you called us at our North Carolina home saying there was a problem with the closing, our hearts almost stopped beating! But you calmly explained the situation and negotiated a solution. If we were at the settlement ourselves, we wouldn’t have known what to do, and I fear we could have even endangered the sale. However, your experience in these situations eased the closing; your simple solution worked; and the alleged problem later was found not to exist, resulting in happy buyers and sellers.
Thanks again for your expert help. And thank you for the embroidered throw which is now in use for chilly Florida evenings. It will be a reminder of how lucky we were to have chosen the right realtor.
